Hello all,

At the following link you'll find a "Petition to Save Kalaeloa Raceway Park".  We're asking for your help and support in gathering signatures via the following request:

"We the undersigned petition the Hawaiian Homes Commission and the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands to
preserve the race track set up by SORT LLC because it is unique and there is no other race track available on the
island of Oahu and there is no other place to bring Hawaiian and other youths at risk to teach them automobile
and truck mechanics, suspensions and body and fender dynamics and repairs and the taking away of this facility
and training area will irreparably harm these children and teenagers in both the Hawaiian community and the
community at large. We respectfully request the Hawaiian Homes Commission to reconsider its past action taken
on June 16, 2014 and hold another public meeting where we can attend and give testimony about the value of this
facility."

The real, full length interview with KITV & KHON2

This video is a full length, unedited capture of the Press Conference held by George Grace Jr. Owner and Operator of Kalaeloa Raceway Park for KITV & KHON2.

This video is in response to the negative press that we have been receiving since the media received an "exclusive" tip and we became the focal point of their investigations.

Over the past few years, we've found that the news can portray stories however they like by taking bits and pieces and manipulating them to fit their slant.  This interview allows you to see the full response made by the park owner to the allegations being brought forth by "anonymous" informants and the visible complainers.

Kalaeloa Raceway Park is a grassroots motorsports facility built to replace the now closed Hawaii Raceway Park.  All proceeds generated from the park events go directly into the continuing development of the park.  It is run and staffed by primarily volunteer workers dedicated to providing a safe, legal place for motorsports activities and entertainment.  Our goal is to eventually complete both dirt and asphalt surfaces to support the majority of the displaced drivers, riders, and spectators that have gone without a home for so long.

We're here because we care about motorsports and those who participate...

STAR ADVERTISER ATTACKS RACETRACK AGAIN!!!

Star Advertiser Attacks Racetrack Again!

Aloha Race Fans,

I would like to inform you that Rob Perez, of the Star-Advertiser, has begun a personal attack on me and is using the newspaper as his tool to aid him in his onslaught against myself and the race track.  For whatever reason he has chosen this, he has every right.  Although the reporting is negative, I feel that any press is good press.  The calls of support from people, who didn't even know that we had a race track, till his story in the media was put out, was overwhelming.

I have explained to Mr. Perez in the recent past, that because of legalities involved, I couldn't comment or answer some of his questions.  I assured him that it isn't as bad as it seems and that if he was patient and waited a little longer, he could have the whole story.  I also explained to Mr. Perez what we do at the track and what our goals are and it's to provide a safe place for racing, recreation, promote safety and most importantly to help keep racing off the streets.  It is my opinion that Mr. Perez, seems to be a very selfish man.  By trying to poke and pry, as to what he thinks is a good story, without knowing the facts and reasons, chooses to only care about himself to write stories with insufficient information to sell more newspapers and simultaneously shut us down.

Mr. Perez had a choice to decide which direction he wanted to go with this story, after learning some of the allegations he reported was not true and proven.  He is still convinced that the race track is a bad place.  He could have easily done a follow-up and corrected himself with the facts.  And yet he continues to search for negative stories.

We are expecting Mr. Perez to be putting out another story about myself and the race track this Sunday or Monday.  We do not expect this to be favorable.

Again, we just want to assure everyone that we are looking forward to a full year of racing.  There will be a lot more different racing activities happening at KRP in the near future.  And we thank everyone for their patience and support.

For those interested, you may contact Rob Perez directly at 529-4711(wk), 479-2109 (cell) or email:  rperez@staradvertiser.com and tell him how you feel.

The following is a the email from Mr. Perez and my response back to him (Click to see a larger image):
